7th Set of Filming - Friend Argument Scene

As I have stated in a post below, we had to change our mother and daughter scene as it did not show continuity and was not conceivable that Ashleigh was Alice's mother as she did not look older. We decided to change Ashligh's character from Alice's mother to her friend who she has recently fallen out with, as we felt this would make more sense as 1) we would not have to use the inside of Jessies house and 2) Ashleigh is the same age as Alice so it would make more sense to have her as a friend rather than her mother.

Location of Scene
We decided to keep the same location of Jessie's house however change it to the front door and garden to eliminate the problem of the interior of the house causing a lack of continuity.

This is the front gate that Ashleigh enters through at the start of the scene

Alice and Ashleigh argue on the patio outside the front door of the house

Actresses make up and clothing
As you can see from the photo above Alice and Ashleigh are both in school as they have recently arrived home from school and by dressing them both in school clothes we can associate that this is how they know each other.

Photo Evidence and Filming

We firstly started by filming Ashleigh coming in through the gate, and filmed her from all different angles and shots

We shot Ashleigh from a front mid shot

We held the camera still and Ashleigh walk past to create a steady shot

We then filmed Ashleigh with a behind follow shot

We then filmed Alice opening the door to Ashleigh from a number of different shots and points of view
Low over the shoulder shot

Alice's point of view                     Ashleigh's point of view

We then filmed the argument part of the scene, using many different levels, shots ans angles to capture the argument

Firstly filmed from a long shot to include both Alice and Ashleigh in the shot

We then used a 360 shot to give a fast paced effect

Another 360 shot

Alice's perspective

Worms eye shot

Over the shoulder shot

This was the first ending we filmed at the argument where Alice storms back into the house after shouting at Ashleigh, and we have used a mid shot for this to show her as she slams the door shut.

We then filmed Alice doing the same thing however this time we did it with an extreme close up shot of Alice's face to reveal her reaction at the end of the argument.

The different shots we have used, especially in the argument scene have made it effective for the audience to put themselves in the place of the character as we have filmed from a number of different perspectives to capture the right feel for the video.
