Ancillary Task Sketches

Before we made our digi pack, we wanted to draw sketches to know where we wanted to place each individual feature on the page, to make it easier for us in the editing process as well as helping us decide how our pictures should be taken, what poses Alice should use, and linking back to our research at all times.

By drawing these sketches it will allow us to create a successful ancillary task, and when making these sketches we have ensured to link it to our ancillary research the whole time, to ensure contintuity and that it relates.

Features of our front cover:
  • Black and White/Greyscale effect on the photograph
  • Same makeup on as in video
  • Bold letter A in the top left corner (similar to Rihanna)
  • Black or White, bold title on the bottom
  • Sticking to our research - use of the hand on the model

  • We then did sketches for our back cover of our CD:

    Features of the Back Cover:
    • Close up of Alice
    • Bar-code
    • The name of the artist down the left hand side
    • Smeared make up on Alice - relates to our video
    • Photo will fade at the bottom of the page - allowing space for terms and conditions
    • The names of the songs will be on the right hand side of the back page

We then made a sketch of our CD. We wanted this to be simple and uncluttered, and to follow our research.

    Features of the CD:
    • 'Perfect' and 'Alice' written in white, bold writing.
    • Black background of the CD
    • Same font will be used on the CD as on the Digi-Pack

For the second ancillary task, we looked at our examples to help us create the sketch that we needed to do, this is shown below:

We have made sure to add other features to our sketches not just the photo, as these are the results that we found in our research, and stuff that we need to add to our magazine cover.

    Features of our magazine advert:
    • The same speared makeup that is on the photo for the back cover
    • Same font as on the Digi-pack
    • The CD cover on the bottom left hand side of the page
    • Text to the right 'dates of release etc'
    • Black background

    Inside Cover
The inside of the cover will be clear as it will look professional and as a group, we decided this was the best choice. We also felt this would be the best choice as we did not have any photos which we felt could go on the inside cover.
