We have looked at Ellie Goulding's products before when getting ideas for our ancillary tasks. In this magazine advert I like the use of the name in bold and in a bright colour, as it advertizes the product and artist well, and draws attention to the name. I also like the use of critique's comments at the bottom, which showcase how good the album is, and I think this is an effective way to publicize an album. However the cover is quite bare and does not have much information on it, and this is a downfall to the advert itself.

I really like this magazine advert. I think the photo of Jessie J is professionally edited and fits well on the page, as it does not take up too much room, which means it leaves space for other features to be put on. I like the use of the gold writing and how it links to the gold make-up on her lips. However, I do not like the sudden cut off from the photo to the features below and this is something we will not include.

This magazine advert is one I do not like. I like the poses of the band and the way they are set out, however I feel the background draws away from the name of the band and the photo itself, and this is ineffective when trying to advertise a poster. However I do like the bottom and how the photo fades into a black background so you can see the writing at the bottom clearer.

The main feature I like about this magazine advert is that they have previewed a picture of the album cover in the bottom left hand corner. This not only advertises Marina and the Diamonds itself, but also gives a glimpse into what the album looks like. I also think the colour scheme of the pastel colours go well here, however we would not be able to use these colours as they do not correlate to our video.

Again I like the feature they have used here of the album cover being present in the bottom left hand corner, and this is definitely a feature I would like to use on my own magazine advert. I think the use and effect of the colours on this advert is very successful, and the three colours used; black, white, and red, would be similar to the colours I would want to use on ym magazne advert as this would correlate to my CD cover.

The use of the black and white effect is something I really like here, and the detail to the name and title.
Leading on from this, I will now go on to do more specific research to give me a focused idea for my magazine advert.
