The examples shown below are mid shots of models. Although I think they are good photos they do not focus on the emotion of the model itself rather than the pose they are pulling. Like the example above the pose is directing attention away from the models face and the emotion that is conveyed which is NOT what we want, however one thing I do like about these photos is that the models hands are by their faces and in their hair.
To refine my research to fit more to what I wanted I tried to find photos where it is just concentrating on the models face and their emotions. I therefore needed to find pictures that use extreme close up shots to capture the emotion of the model.
As you can see these two photos are very different from one another and do not show much continuity. The first one shows just the models head and their hands to hide their face. Although this does not show facial expressions I feel it is effective as it portrays a sad and depressed emotion. The one below shows the face of the model, however is not as clear as to what emotion is meant to be conveyed. These however are two good examples of extreme close up shots.
These photos are good examples to link in with my earlier research where the models hands are touching their face or hair. However none of these images portray the sad and depressed emotion we want to convey in our photo.
These four photos I feel are extremely linked to the look of my own album cover. They all convey extreme emotions of sadness, depression, and distress, which are also all conveyed in our media video. All of them are also in black and white which is another positive point as this is what I want to include in my album cover. They all also have a plain background which means we can focus on the model and their expression rather than the location and props around them. I think out of all of these, the bottom photo is exactly what I imagined my own album cover resembling. It shows signs of depression by covering the face with other body parts whilst still being able to see the models face, and is in a black and white effect. The only fault I have found about this is that the model is in the bath which I would not like to recreate.
This has been my train of thought throughout the process of researching
