The next step of creating my digi-pack was to complete the CD itself. Again like the spine and front cover we decided to keep this very simple to keep conitnuity, and this is what we thought was most effective from looking at research and from our own ideas. As the majority of our digi-pack was black and white we decided to keep this colour scheme for the CD with a black background and white writing.
To make our CD we had to use the programme of 'InDesign' which we are all familiar with as we have used this in our AS Media work. We have again used the 'character' boz to evenly space the letters on the disc. We also decided to put alice's name and the title on the top of the CD.
We then wanted to give the CD a little bit more colour so it was not overpowering with the colour black, however we still wanted to keep the design simple. We did this by putting a thin white circle around the whole of the CD.
For the whole layout of the disc we needed to make sure we linked back to research and keep it similar as our research conveyed what we wanted our own product to look like. As we have based the rest of our CD around Rihanna's album 'Talk that Talk' we decided to base our CD around this as well.
In the real product, which is shown in the photo below, Rihanna's name is the main focus of the disc and this is what our attention is drawn to. However when looking at other research and discussing our own ideas we decided we would rather have the name of the albim in large writing, and the artists name featured slightly smaller and below the album title. Other research featured on the name of the album to promote the album rather than the artist itself, which we felt was very effective.
We also added other information to the CD disk such as copyright details, production details, and broadcasting information as this makes the CD much more realistic.
This is our final product:
